The Centre for Alternative Technology is a research and demonstration centre for sustainability. The visitor centre display includes examples of renewable energies, energy efficiency, eco-buildings, organic growing, natural water treatment, and is teeming with biodiversity.
CAT offers education programmes for teachers and students of all ages. These include workshops for residential or day visits covering themes such as Climate Change, Renewable Energy, or Eco Footprinting. Masters Courses on Renewable Energy and Sustainable Architecture are on offer at CAT’s Graduate School for the Environment, and short practical courses are available for adults.
Residential visitors can stay in the Eco Cabins for first hand experience of using and monitoring the Cabins’ own Renewable Energy supply!
CAT staff also offer workshops to support PSE and Wales and the Wider World in the WBQ.
CAT staff can also visit schools and colleges to provide workshops, and provide a consultancy service to green up your educational establishment!
