Session 1
Communication C2.1a and C2.1b
[You should tackle this work as a member of a group. Discuss the following questions within your group. This discussion should be supervised by ateacher to gain the Communication skills detailed above.]

  • Define the term 'community'.
  • What are the main characteristics of your community at school?
  • Is your home community different in any way? How is it different? [Keep the notes you have made on this session as evidence of your work.Note the title and author of any books you use.]

Sessions 2 and 3
Design a questionnaire, or interview questions, to discover the backgrounds/characteristics of communities.

People will be invited into school to answer your questions.

You should also administer this questionnaire to people you may know who are from a different background to yourself.

Session 4
Talks by visiting speakers and opportunities to interview.

Sessions 5 and 6
Present your findings to the group.

Make sure you have some form of evidence of this, e.g. witness statement from a teacher.
