Wales is famous for its rain. It is so wet here that many English cities such as Birmingham rely on Wales for their drinking water, which is collected in reservoirs in the Welsh hills. However, the weather is not the same all over Wales. The prevailing wind (the one that blows most days) comes from the southwest. This fact, together with the warming effect of the Gulf stream at the coast and the mountains, produces lots of variation.
