This resource is designed to be used by teachers on an interactive whiteboard or with groups of pupils around a small screen.
The teacher can explain how the different parts of a circuit make a bulb light up for use in a torch. Comparisons can be made between how a real torch works and the diagrams to be disassembled.
There are two interactive diagrams of circuits that teachers can assemble to show pupils how a torch lights up. This should enable pupils to understand the principles behind torch circuits so that they can then design their own.
