Introduction

This resource pack provides the opportunity to investigate work carried out by teachers nowadays and in the past.

The screens provide a visual stimulus for discussion and should encourage speaking and listening as well as helping pupils to look at their own environment.

Pupils will compare the work of a modern-day teacher with that of a Victorian teacher. A series of worksheets support and extend the lesson.

Learning objectives:

  • to make comparisons about the way we live today and the way we lived in the past
  • to identify what life was like in other times
  • to describe people from the past
