Learning objectives:

• know and order the months of the year
• understand that the year is divided into four distinct seasons
• recognise differences in the environment between seasons
• observe and record seasonal change
• understand that different weather conditions have an effect upon living things

A series of interactive whiteboard screens provide pupils with information and activities related to the seasons. The screens provide an opportunity for pupils to observe, question, sort and record. They provide a visual stimulus for discussion and should encourage speaking and listening skills. Pupils will gain an understanding of the effect of the seasons upon the landscape and the animals which live in it. They will also be encouraged to consider how seasonal change affects human life. A series of worksheets are available to support and extend the lesson.

This resource pack addresses sections 1.1, 1.2 and 2.5 of the scientific enquiry PoS and 4.1 of life processes from the national curriculum in Wales.
