This resource pack introduces working with decimals at year 5 and year 6. It is intended for use over several introductory sessions or to consolidate work involving decimals.
This resource pack will enable a teacher to:
- demonstrate and reinforce the concept of "beyond the decimal point": tenths and hundredths
- highlight how to order decimals
- introduce the addition and subtraction of decimals
- develop pupils' ability to solve word problems involving decimals
The activities cover sections 2.5 and 6 of Number in the mathematics Welsh Curriculum.
