One of the main parts of the prayer hall is the Mihrab. The mihrab is an alcove in one of the walls of the mosque. It points the direction to Makkah. Makkah is the holy city of Islam. It is in Saudi Arabia. When Muslims pray they must face in the direction of Makkah. Therefore the mihrab is at the front of the prayer hall, and Muslims face it when they pray. |
