In mosques there are usually carpets or mats on the floor of the prayer hall. This is to make it comfortable for Muslims to carry out their prayers. Sometimes, as in the Yemeni mosque in Cardiff, the carpet is in the shape of individual prayer mats. Then everyone knows how much room to take up in the mosque. It is like the lines in a car park! |
