When Sikhs come to worship in the gurdwara, they will walk up to the Guru Granth Sahib. They will bow down before it, with their head touching the ground as a sign of respect. They will then place an offering in front of the Guru Ganth Sahib. This offering may be food, flowers or money. The food offerings will later to taken down to the langar kitchen. Can you see the bottle of milk in the plastic bag, which has been donated? There is a box in front of the raised platform into which money offerings can be placed. The money is used to look after the Gurdwara. |
