In the Cardiff Bhatra Gurdwara, the main prayer hall is upstairs. It is a large room, most of which is empty space for the worshippers to sit. The floor is covered with a carpet and white sheets to keep the carpet clean. There are no chairs in the prayer hall. Sikhs will sit on the floor to worship. Men will sit on one side and women on the other side of the room. The prayer hall is a bright and colourful place. Tinsel and streamers hang from the ceiling. This shows how Sikhs feel when they come to worship God. They are happy and joyful. |
