- Greater ecological validity than laboratory experiment.
- Less sample bias.
- Fewer demand characteristics if participants are unaware.
- Lack of control brings problem of extraneous variables.
- Difficult to replicate.
- Difficult to record data accurately.
- Ethical problems.
