This resource aims to allow pupils to practise using money including giving the correct money and deciding on amounts. They will also use correct notational values of money in pounds and pence.
The pack takes place within the context of a shop. Pupils are asked to purchase the correct amount of food for a party of six with a given amount of money. They decide what to buy, modify decisions where necessary and work with pounds and pence.
This pack will address the following objectives:
- select and use the correct money using pounds and pence
- explain and discuss choices using correct mathematical language
- use estimation to solve problems
