Collecting Sounds

Using your mp3 recorder    Using a microphone    Recording

Your microphone is very sensitive and will pick up most of the sounds that you want it to, however, here are a few things you need to bear in mind:

a. Make sure that your microphone is protected from the wind, as any buffeting sounds will spoil your recording.

b. Listen carefully to the sound that you want to record - where does it sound best? This is where you should position your microphone

c. Your microphone isn't like your ear - it can't choose what to listen to so make sure that there are no sounds that you DON'T want to record.
