What is a photograph album? Do you have one at home? What are they used for?

Now we've taken our pictures, we're going to transfer them onto the computer using a Digital Photograph Album. A Digital Photograph Album has exactly the same use as the photograph album you have at home - it allows us to organise and store our pictures, and makes it easy for us to find and view them.

Do you know what a computer programme is? Can you think of any computer programmes you use and what you use them for?

A computer programme is a piece of clever software designed to do a special job. We're going to use a computer programme called iPhoto, which is specially designed to be a Digital Photograph Album. This means we can use it to organise, store and view our pictures.

iPhoto isn't the only Digital Photograph Album available. If you're working on a PC, you may want to consider downloading Picasa. This is free software made by Google, that will enable you to organise your pictures, make basic adjustments and make slideshow presentations.
