Storyboarding
Preparation Ask your teacher to download and print out the Storyboard worksheet.
Activity Now you have collected lots of pictures and sounds, it's time to look and listen to them carefully and decide which will be good to include as part of your final video. This process is called editing. All great artists and musicians have to review and edit their work. As a group, you have to decide which pictures and sounds are successful and which are not. You also have to decide which pictures and sounds best describe your theme. Use the storyboard template to plan your video. Begin by deciding on a title, then carefully draw your pictures into the boxes, in the order which best tells your story. If you have more than 10 pictures, divide the boxes into 4 sections but remember to re-number them in order. Think back to what we've learnt about how sounds and pictures relate to each other. Which pictures best describe your theme? Do you have any sound motifs or themes? Do you have any sounds that link to your pictures? Do you have any confusing sounds? Write underneath each box the sound that will accompany each photograph. Remember, you don't have to have one sound for every picture, a long sound could play continuously through a number of picture changes, and you could even have two sounds playing together.
