Musical Scores   Graphic Score   Classroom Activity

Musical scores can also be written in other ways, often these are called Graphic Scores. A graphic score makes use of all kinds of visual symbols and pictures to represent musical ideas. Many composers make scores that look like pictures. This is a graphic score by the composer Cornelius Cardew, called Treatise. The musicians have to work very hard to decide how to play this music!

What kind of symbols would you put in a graphic score?
