Before you record anything, you need to set up your recording equipment:

1. Switch on the MP3 recorder by pressing POWER and holding it down. 

2. Plug your microphone into the MIC socket. 

3. Plug your headphones into the HEADPHONE socket. 

4. Move the switch on your microphone to the 120° position. 

5. Press the REC button once. It will now flash red.

You're now ready to record.
