Introduction

There are many different religions throughout the world and even within our country. Although Britain is a mainly Christian country and many pupils know about the Bible's stories, they may not know so much about something that is very often right on their doorstep: their local church. In this lesson you will find out why Christians go to church. Churches come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, but most share very similar features. You will be looking at some of the things that traditional church buildings have in common. You'll find out about some of the different parts of a church, and discover what they are called and what happens there.
