Through the following activities, pupils will learn:
- that when some materials are squashed, pulled, pushed, turned, twisted
or stretched the shape of the object will change
- that forces affect different materials in different ways
- to predict what is likely to happen when different materials are pushed,
pulled, stretched or bent
- to carry out an investigation based on their predictions and interpret
the results
These activities can be used to address 2.3 and 2.4 of physical processes
and 1.2 and 2.1 of the scientific enquiry programme of studies in the
national curriculum for Wales.
