By the end of this lesson students should:

• know that leaves can be tested for the presence of starch using iodine
  
• understand the experiments to show that light, carbon dioxide and chlorophyll are required for photosynthesis
  
• understand the experiment to show that oxygen is produced during photosynthesis
  
• understand that the rate of photosynthesis can be increased by increasing the light intensity, temperature and carbon dioxide concentration
