
Summary
In phase 1 pupils respond to instructions
and explain how to use the tools used in the last two lessons. Pupils should be shown how and where to
locate their earlier poster design. Briefly revise how to use some
of the tools used in the previous session so that the children have
a final opportunity to amend their designs if they so wish. After
all groupings are happy with their poster they are now ready to
find out how to print it. In phase 2 pupils mount their posters on
stiff card with a border. Their posters may need to be cut and
slightly reduced in size before they can be mounted. Objectives Phase 1: To open, revise and complete the
first set of pictures. Save and print images. Phase 2: To present the printed poster on
quality card and decorate appropriately. Prior learning required How to log on to a computer.
Some prior experience using an external mouse.
Previous experience of using spray, fill and undo tools.
The ability to open and close a program.
How to open a program. Timings Phase 1 will take 45 minutes to an hour
(depending upon assistance and printer speed)
Phase 2 will take an hour (approximately) Necessary vocabulary Alter, change, save, print, print setup,
page setup, page orientation and decorate.
Curriculum links At key stage 1 pupils should be taught to
become familiar with Information and Communications Technology
(ICT) hardware and software. They learn to use ICT confidently and
purposefully to achieve specific outcomes. They start to use ICT to
develop their ideas and record their creative work.
