This series of activities can be used either wholly or in parts to demonstrate and consolidate how to multiply three-digit numbers.
The activities will enable a teacher to:
- introduce and revise the seven and eight times tables
- demonstrate and increase pupils' ability to multiply HTU x U using a variety of written methods
- work through a variety of ways of solving multiplication word problems
It is intended that this lesson be used as a whole lesson to be undertaken on the interactive whiteboard. However, teachers may like to use parts of this lesson as a warm-up activity.
The activities will address the Welsh Curriculum area: Mathematics; Key Stage 2; Number; 2.5 and 3.2.
