Session 3.5: Resources to support cascade activities

Aim:

To explore resources available to support your cascade activities.

Objectives:

By the end of the session you will have:

  • investigated a range of resources
  • identified and repurposed resources to use in supporting your colleagues
  • considered ongoing support and further training needs.

Resources:

You will need:

  • a computer with internet access
  • your E-Guides USB memory stick
  • your E-Guides cascade action plan

Time allocated:

60 minutes

Task:

  1. Think about your organisation and its ‘e-maturity’. What kind of resources will help you make an effective contribution to the introduction or embedding of e-learning? Make a note of any resources you particularly would like to find and share this with your facilitators (5 minutes).

  2. Your facilitators will demonstrate some of the resources available. You can find this information listed on the information sheets Resources to support cascade activities and JISC Regional Support (10 minutes).

  3. Select one or two of the websites with particular relevance for your organisation and make notes on the sheet Activity: Researching resources (10 minutes).

  4. Share your thoughts on the resources you have found with your online learning group (5 minutes).

  5. Your facilitators will demonstrate the NIACE Moodle E-Guides training programme discussion groups and explain the E-Guides mailing list (15 minutes).

  6. Use your reflective log and the GLO templates to record your thoughts and ideas (10 minutes).

  7. Your facilitators will ask you to complete an evaluation of the programme (5 minutes).
