Session 2.2: Creating interactive content (1)

Aim: To develop your skills in using content creation software.

Objectives:

By the end of this session you will have:

  • explored some of the content creation tools and software packages currently available to enable the creation of interactive learning resources
  • developed your ICT skills by completing the step-by-step guides to basic techniques provided for some of the more commonly available software packages, and to explore other software packages.

Resources:

You will need:

  • a computer with internet connection
  • your E-Guides USB memory stick
Time allocated: 90 minutes

Task:

  1. Your facilitator will introduce you to the Content creation section on your E-Guides USB memory stick. This section contains a collection of step-by-step guides for creating interactive learning content. For more information on this section view the sheet Introduction to creating interactive content.

  2. Your facilitator will describe a variety of activities to work on, either individually, in pairs or in a group.

  3. You might wish to use the template provided (Activity: Reviewing content creation tools) to make some reflective notes on content creation software you explore.
