This whiteboard resource for KS4 biology develops students' understanding of the role of enzymes in speeding up reactions and what happens when temperature and substrate concentration are varied in enzyme-controlled reactions.
Upon completion of this lesson students should:
- recognise that an enzyme is a molecule that speeds up a reaction without being changed or used up
- be able to describe the generalised effects that changes in temperature and substrate concentration have on enzyme-controlled reactions
- understand why temperature and substrate concentration have these effects
