This resource pack includes information on the Mabinogion, which should be read by the teacher and class prior to undertaking the starter activity. The pack creates opportunities for students to use Art and Design to further their understanding of Welsh folklore.
Key skills are covered through the use of literacy, reading and understanding the story, numeracy, using three-dimensional skills, and measuring and looking at scale and dimension in order to prepare to make a three-dimensional model. IT is covered in a variety of ways, using the interactive whiteboard as a class activity and also developing work for inclusion on a website.
Students are invited to engage in a number of activities during the lesson and are given guidance on research and planning. Opportunities arise within the pack to revisit aspects of the legend of Blodeuwedd in order to underpin the basic story and characters and to assist understanding and learning of the topic.
