Cells as 3-D objects is a difficult concept for pupils to grasp, as all diagrams, demonstrations and microscope work give cells a 2-D appearance. This resource pack will allow them to see the 3-D structure and also educate them in the main components of the cell. It links in with KS3, Life Processes and Living Things, Life Processes and Cell Activity, 1.1 and 1.2.
The pack contains a 3-D plant cell in which all major components necessary for KS3 can be seen, identified and explained, with an activity testing this information.
This can be linked with the lesson on Animal cells and acts as a prerequisite for the lesson on Specialised cells.
