The class with their Bear Roamer

Our Bear Journey Outline of the activity
Using the Big Book- “ We’re going on a Bear Hunt”, pupils program the Roamer to trace the journey of the bear.

Skills Covered
The forward, backward and turn commands were practised with the Roamer.  Language skills were developed as pupils discussed the story and the bear's journey.

Rationale
By changing the Roamer to a bear, the children could see the story come to life.

Result
The Roamer Bear followed a predetermined path; pupils could see that their instructions caused the bear to move.
