Looking at the BBC news website for interesting happenings.Outline of the activity
Each morning different pupils search the BBC news web site to find a story of interest to them.  They download an image and add a text comment.

Skills Covered
The children in a Special School are logging on to a web site, and using the right click option to copy an image.  They then read the accompanying text and enter a simple summary of the main ideas to accompany the picture.

Rationale
The activity is undertaken daily to provide a relevant discussion point for the class and to provide a focus for the regular practice of essential ICT skills.

Result
The children print out the resulting sheet and a copy is pinned on the notice board.  Another copy is kept in their file.
