Outline of the activity
There are 12 open-ended puzzles, each with four levels of difficulty, where a variety of possible routes lead to the solution.

Skills Covered
This is a truly cross-curricular activity in which skills are developed in language, mathematics and encourage collaborative work in solving problems. Children begin to see the effects of decisions on outcomes (modelling)

Rationale
The ICT is integrated into the activities which could form a substantial part of a term's work.

Result
The final annotated images were then printed out and used to illustrate the river’s journey to the younger pupils in the class.
