The children were using the ‘All About Us’ program to reinforce the concepts around the topic.
Skills Covered
The children were practising using a computer to record and present ideas in a different format. They had to select, click and drag the correct graphic and drop it into the right place to sort the information. They also went on to use the print icon to print the work out independently.
Rationale
This lesson is very easy as it is using an existing CD ROM to produce an instant source of discussion and display. It encourages the children to discuss the topic and so facilitates skills development in English, Maths and ICT.
Result
If this is extended to include printing, the class teacher is provided with an instant source of display and evidence. The children enjoy the activity and if the technology is available to present this to a whole class, then all pupils can be drawn into discussion or practical tasks.
