Outline of the activity
The class were discussing Celebrations as part of their R.E. curriculum. The class teacher then asked the children when their birthdays were. The information was written in tally chart format. This was then transferred onto Graphplot to create a bar chart of Birthdays in the class.

Skills Covered
The children learnt how to enter information into a table format. They reinforced their keyboard skills. They also made choices as to colour of each bar in the chart, and the font style and size. They learnt how to print and save their work.

Rationale
The activity enabled the teacher to include various skills into a lesson on Celebrations. The children had a visual aid to show when they were all born. This lesson clearly reinforces a number of key skills across the curriculum.

Result
A variety of graphs were printed and used to enhance the maths display.
