Food Chains
A series of resources including video, animation and whiteboard materials that address the skills, knowledge and understanding of how science works within the GCSE specifications.
This unit helps pupils to understand that at each stage in the food chain energy is lost in waste materials, in repair and maintenance of cells and as heat during respiration. The activities include interpreting the effects of eating from different trophic levels in a food chain and comparisons of vegetarian and meat diets and eating from different trophic levels.
