Outline of the activity
The children were using the ‘Swish’ program to create a series of ‘moving’poems.

Skills Covered
The children were practising their skills of altering font and style of text. They chose their own background colours and orientation of text.

Rationale
This lesson facilitates skills development in English and ICT. It is quite easy to use from an existing CD-ROM and is quite a self explanatory program to run.

Results
This activity produces a very effective presentation. It reinforces the parts of language that are being worked on, in this case adjectives, in an imaginative way. The finished ‘moving’ poetry is then placed onto the school website.
