Outline of the activity
The children chose the jobs they would like to do for their class newspaper and then they worked as a team to produce it.
Skills Covered
Children study newspaper reports and identify the characteristics such as style and layout. They work cooperatively to write reports. Children use the computer to produce the newspaper having to use the digital camera and inserting ClipArt. They resized and moved objects around the screen.
Rationale
This activity was the Text Level work for the Literacy and a way of letting the children show what they had learned about Newspaper/report writing. The computer was an appropriate tool for the purpose.
Result
The Newspaper was printed and distributed to the pupils in the class to take home with them. It is planned to produce one newspaper per term.
