Our supermarket visitOutline of the activity
The children were asked to create a report sequencing images, captured using a digital camera and write about events from a class visit to a local supermarket.

Skills Covered
Children developed sequencing skills working collaboratively and this produced excellent opportunities for discussion. They were able to write independently identifying the purpose for and organising their writing to suit the task. The children were able to add text and in some cases pictures to documents. They were able to save load, edit and print their reports.

Rationale
The teacher wanted to give the children an opportunity to sequence events from their class visit, show them how to combine text and pictures in a document and how to load, edit and save work.

Result
Children were able to produce interesting, informative reports of their visit and in doing developed a wide range of key communication and ICT skills. The finished, printed reports were included in their Records of Achievement.
