Owl BabiesOutline of the activity
The pupils were reading ‘Owl Babies’ as their Big Book. They created their own stories using Storybook Weaver.

Skills Covered
The pupils developed their imaginative skills and created their own version of the story. They learned how to use the functions of Story Book Weaver. They created their own backgrounds, added objects, sounds and text

Rationale
The teacher wanted to give the children an opportunity to sequence the things they had seen on their school visit and relate it to their classwork. The children had drawn storyboards by hand previously and were familiar with the concept.

Result
This activity is an interesting slant on writing stories. It captures the children’s imagination.
