Outline of the activity
Children use a drawing program to draw their family members (including pets). This picture is printed out and glued to a Calendar Page.

Skills Covered
The children developed mouse control and familiarised themselves with the basic tools available in a paint Program. They added text to their drawing. They saved with help if necessary and printed their work.

Rationale
The activity was used to develop pupils’ IT skills in using the mouse. The lesson was primarily art based but made links to the topic work and a creative link with I.T. The calendar that resulted was a lovely keepsake for the children to take home.

Result
The picture was glued to a calendar page and string attached for hanging. The children took the calendars home for a Christmas gift.
