Outline of the activity
The class had been making a variety of butterflies to develop skills of symmetry and also to develop fine motor skills when using scissors. This activity lent itself through an art lesson that was being taught.
Skills Covered
The children had to open the program and use the variety of tools on the art Package. They had to make their own choices of colour and style. They printed and saved their work.
Rationale
Using the template of the butterfly allowed the children to focus on their colour choices and range of tools. They were developing their mouse control skills at the same time. The work was printed and made a lovely display.
Result
The teacher displayed the pupils' work in the classroom under the heading - Maths work / symmetry.
