Outline of the activity
Children test many different shoe styles to find out which shoe type has the best grip. Their findings are plotted on a bar chart and analysed.

Skills Covered
Use ICT software to organise, communicate and analyse information using graphs. Children learn about friction as a force. They draw meaningful conclusions from graphs and communicate these using appropriate language.

Rationale
Any measurements taken in Science can be entered into a data handling program and a graph produced. The resulting graph is a clear pictorial representation of the findings.

Result
Bar charts were drawn to show the results of the investigation. The results were discussed with regards friction and forces.
