The children made a calendar for Christmas. They wrote their own poem about the seasons and used IT to present it with clipart pictures.
Skills Covered
The children wrote a poem for English. On the computer they used Publisher to draw text and graphic boxes. They inserted clip art pictures and borders and typed in their poems choosing the font size, style, colour and alignment.
Rationale
Making the Calendar was a way of getting the children to use the knowledge gained through the term about changing font size, style, colour and using bold and alignment to attractively display the information. Every year the children make a calendar to take home.
Result
The children all had their own individual calendars to take home for Christmas as a gift.
