Outline of the activity
The children were asked to plan and create a PowerPoint slideshow to present aspects of the research project that had been undertaken on the school’s history.

Skills Covered
The children used search and retrieval skills to gather information relevant to the project. They presented their information in an appropriate style and format. The children were able to use the digital camera to capture images as well as copying and pasting resources from their school web site. The children were able to animate the slideshow and include sound effects.

Rationale
The use of ICT was useful in providing a purpose and audience for the children’s research but also contributed to drafting of their writing in order to produce the finished presentations.


Result
The children were able to create interesting informative multimedia presentation, their ICT capabilities increased greatly copying and pasting text and pictures and using the digital camera . The children were able to animate their slideshow and include sound effects.
