Conwy has adopted strategies to encourage and support LAC to continue and engage in education so that that they have every opportunity to achieve their full educational potential.Training on statutory educational requirements for LAC - to all designated teachers in schools.Resource packs to designated teachers and education practitioners and school GovernorsTraining and discussions with social workers and foster carers / regular meetings with social services professionals via fortnightly LAC clinics.Monitoring of LAC feelings re self and school via the PASS system / PEP questionnaires improve literacy and numeracy support - one to one, recycled laptops for KS" and Letterbox ClubFoster Carer training - regular events twice annually helping to raise awareness of statutory requirements, responsibilities regarding supporting, monitoring the educational needs of LACStatistics regarding LAC entering Further Education / Work TrainingThe multi—agency approach has proved to be very effective leading to an average of 870% of LAC young people leaving school to go on to FE / work over the last 3 years compared to 60% previously.
