Science in the News
Science in the News is a termly science magazine. Articles are selected specifically to engage and excite students about current issues being discussed in the media that are often not covered by the curriculum.

The aims of the site are to:

  • Stimulate curiosity, awe and wonder
  • Motivate learners and teachers
  • Encourage learners to ask questions
  • Generate quality discussion
  • Provide a range of opportunities for skill development
  • Be relevant to life in 21st century
  • Be inclusive and allow all learners to actively engage with the material
  • Develop thinking and use assessment for learning strategies which encourage quality learning
  • Encourage and support teacher development and creativity
  • Develop and highlight cross-links between science, other school subjects and the skills which underpin them

This resource is suitable for KS4, although aspects of it could be useful for KS3 and KS2.
