GIS in KS2 Ideas, experiences and possibilities
This pack is part case study and part resource for introducing Geographical Information Systems into KS2.
It features a unit of work carried out by teachers in Bridgend with accompanying worksheets, ideas, examples of work and experiences of those involved in the cluster project. In this example, AEGIS3 was used to promote a transitional project with cluster’s secondary school but similar work could be carried out using a range of different software packages.
The resource also contains presentations and documentation introducing the concept of GIS to teachers and pupils in KS2 as well as offering ideas and approaches for using Powerpoint and Google Earth in the classroom.
