Descriptive Writing: A trip to the supermarket

The unit supports teachers and pupils in writing a descriptive piece as preparation for the WJEC English GCSE Paper 1 Section B1 – descriptive writing. It could also be used as part of the stimulus for an English Writing Coursework task focused on descriptive writing.

During the unit there are opportunities to consider: vocabulary choices; use of figurative language; perspective and developing description; structuring the resource.
