Summary of Proposal

Increase capacity of the Inclusion Team in the Education Service
- Tracking of LAC
- Appropriate and timely completion of PEPs and reviews
- Co-ordination of care Plans, PEPs SEN Statements
- Home visits for all carers to establish need in terms of supporting educational success of those in their care
- Monitor academic progress of LAC
- Support Social Services with recruitment, induction and training of carers
- Ensure positive home-school links through effective communication
- Signpost carers and/or children and young people to other partner services.
To increase the capacity of Home Tuition Team in Education Department
- To provide additional tuition for young people in GCSE years
- To provide additional tuition in cases of exceptional need, in other years
- To provide continuity of tuition where attendance is affected by placement breakdown, new placement, etc.
To assist the LEA in
- Re-launch of LAC co-ordinator in every school
- Regular meeting and networking of all LAC co-ordinators
- Help raise profile and expectations of LAC and celebrate achievement

appointment of a full-time Inclusion Officer
provide a rapid response service to schools regarding concerns over attendance, level of engagement and also potential education placement breakdown
provide clear lines of contact for social workers and foster carers
attendance and truancy monitoring
provision of additional tuition
Consult with and provide advice and support to foster carers to enable them to support education
Recruitment drive for additional tutors-specialists
Source a multi-media lending library to improve literacy provision
