My world
Outline of the activity
The children were the using the ‘My World’ program to make a picture and add labels to it. They were encouraged to discuss their pictures and describe features such as colours, people and seasons.
Skills Covered
The teacher was able to reinforce clicking and dragging skills as the children had to select and place graphics.
This activity also allowed the introduction of basic keyboard skills as the children added simple labels to their drawings.
Rationale
This activity allowed the children to practise the basic skills of mouse control, clicking and dragging. It was ideal for introducing keyboard skills as the children began to label their own work.
