Outline of the activity
The teacher downloaded the program FaceToon from the internet. It was saved on floppy disk for pupils to take home as well as on the school computers.
Skills Covered
The children were using the mouse skills of dragging and dropping. They also tried to produce an exact replica of an image previously prepared by the teacher.
Rationale
To develop the skills of mouse control. The teacher used the Print Screen (PrtSc) option to give copies of the work to the pupils.
Result
In pairs children created their own illustrated storybooks using scanned images of their artwork and the teacher incorporated these into Primary Writer pages. They read their finished books to the rest of their class and their books were put on display in the classroom.
